Lady Cardinal Swimmers Beat Lehman Lightning

Lady Cardinal Win 6 first place finishes against Lehman College

Bronx, NY - Led by Captain Karima Tonge, the Lady Cardinals were victorious over Lehman College last night with a final score of 88-64. Karima Tonge swam the 200 IM in 3:02.8 Sec and 100 free in 1:12.96. Karima has been an role model to the young cardinals team with her ability as a diverse swimmer. Freshman Dawn Davis - also won 2 events the 50 free 31.95 and the 100 back 1:23.60. Dawn has brought new life to the cardinal team and has been an inspiration to many of the freshman swimmers on the team. Sophomore Maria Amante-Mathieu was another Lady Cardinal double winner. Maria took first place in the 1,000 free 18:45.88 and the 500 free 9:08.68. Newcomer Donna Venturo (freshman) who learned to swim in October, swam the 1,000 free (4th place) and the 500 free (5th place). This freshman cardinal is proof that great things are coming in the future for York swimming.
